Hope you had a good Christmas and welcome back for the first newsletter of 2006.  EOS would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.  We hope that this year will be filled with exciting new developments that can benefit all of us.

Backing up you data 

The most important message for 2006 is "back up your data".  We thought it best to remind you all that taking a back-up of MoveMan is extremely important.  The more moveman is used, the more you come to rely on it.  God forbid that should anything happen to your systems -i.e. fire, theft, natural disaster - then you have a backup that we can quickly restore for you.  Otherwise you might find it difficult to operate.  Once a file is lost there is little that can be done to bring the data back without a back-up.

The most important file to have a back-up of is mm98data.mdb which will be found on you main server/computer, but there are other files that should be backed up:

mm98.mdb

mm98mm.mdb

mm98rept

shared documents folder

MoveWord folder

This can be backed up in various ways - using tape, cd-rw's and dvd-rw's or over the internet to a remote computer - to name but a few ways .  If you have IT support, speak with them and they will advise on the best way to do it.  If you don't have support, contact us and we can advise on action that can be taken.

 Remember it's better to have a back-up than no back-up at all.

Support Contact Numbers  

In our last newsletter we let you know that our support desk was undergoing some redevelopment and that a new telephone system was to be implemented.  This project has now been successfully completed and had been tested for the last two months without any impact.

We have increased the number of lines available so that more of the time you will be answered by a support person rather than getting voice mail, which hopefully will have been noticed over the last two months.

In light of this we would like to take this opportunity to let you know our new telephone numbers which are effective from this email:

Could you please ensure that your records are updated to reflect these, but don't worry, the old numbers are still active for a short while.

MoveMan for TabletPC version 1.19 released

The latest version of MoveMan for TabletPC is now released.  The major change to this version is the incorporation of multimedia presentations onto the tablet for demonstration to your customers.  These are accessed from the MoveMan menu and will run directly onto the tablet whilst at the customer’s property.

EOS becomes Fujitsu-Siemens Partner

From the beginning of January EOS has become a Solutions partner for our work with MoveMan for TabletPC and also MoveMan Pro.  Taking on this role enables us to have access to the latest developments in hardware from Fujitsu-Siemens and using the developments to continually take MoveMan for TabletPC to the next level.
