Welcome to our next release of our quarterly MoveMan Pro
newsletter. This quarter sees the arrival of the BAR
conference and also the introduction of the HIP (Home
Information Pack),
which hopefully won't affect us too
much. At least we have great sunshine and warm
temperatures.
MoveMan Pro
Due to the changing nature of technology we would like to advise
you all that any future versions of MoveMan Pro will be designed
to work on a minimum screen resolution of 1024 by 768. Do
note that this does not effect you currently, you will only need
to consider it when you are upgrading your MoveMan
version.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact the support
on 0870 4288 412 or email
support@eosuk.com.
BAR Conference
Enhanced Operating Systems will be at the BAR Conference in London this year, so please take some time
to come and visit us. Feel free to have a chat to any of
us about how you can make better use of your systems or even
take a look at the new developments we have from the updated
self-store system to the new IntelliRate system for
international quoting. There
is also a great new development with the TabletPC that we think
you will love.
IntelliRate Update
As part of our plan to make MoveMan
as comprehensive and beneficial as possible we have developed a
great new system of doing trade quotes based on volume rates for
destination, origin and transit agents. This update is for
all those who have the international module and is easy to
manage and have different rate periods for different times of
the year.
For more information of this and how it operates please contact
sales@eosuk.com or call 0870 4288 412.
MoveMan for TabletPC Release
The beta version of the tablet has been tested and this quarter
sees the release of MoveMan for TabletPC 2.01.0004. This
update includes the ability to produce quotations on the tablet
and synchronise them back into the main system for everyone to
view. Also included is the ability to run sales
presentations for your clients in their own home including
animations of packing boxes that can be personalised with your
own company logos.
If you would like to have an upgrade please let us know and we
will make the necessary arrangements for you.
Sage
If you are running Sage Line 50 on any version please remember
to check the Sage website regularly for updates, just like you
would do for your Microsoft
products. Sage are regularly releasing patches that will
keep your program up to date.
Also if you are upgrading Sage or just updating the software
please ensure that you remember to to run the maintenance
options before you proceed with the update. this will
often flag up or correct any
issues that you might have before they have serious effects
later on.
Backing up you data
Please remember to back up your data, and also to test your
backups regularly to make sure that your back-ups are actually
working. We thought it best to remind you all that taking
a back-up of MoveMan (as well any other software that you
have) is extremely important. The more MoveMan
is used, the more you come to rely on it. God forbid that
should anything happen to your systems -i.e. fire, theft,
natural disaster - then you have a backup that we can quickly
restore for you. Otherwise you might find it difficult to
operate. Once a file is lost there is little that can be
done to bring the data back without a back-up.
The most important file to have a back-up of is
mm98data.mdb which will be found on your main
server/computer, but there are other files that should be backed
up:
mm98.mdb
mm98mm.mdb
mm98rept.mdb
shared documents folder
MoveWord folder
This can be backed up in various ways - using tape, cd-rw's and
dvd-rw's or
over the internet to a remote computer -
to name but a few ways .
If you have IT support, speak with them and they will advise on
the best way to do it. If you don't have support, contact
us and we can advise on action that can be taken.
We will be shortly offering an on-line backup system that for a
small monthly fee will enable us to ensure your core business
information is backed up every day. The system we have been
working on with one of our partners allows us to check remotely
that your data is being backed up as expected. All that is
required is a broadband internet connection and that the server
PC is left on overnight. To register your interest about this
please email sales@eosuk.com.
We hope that this newsletter has been informative but we would
